In an area filled with private school parents and pensioners, this little cafe has really something to offer. The coffee is generally surprisingly good. In addition to this a wide selection of quide different food from cafe bites to fully blown meals and a the quirky mix of cluttered displays, old floorboards, and green marble tables provides a good spot to meet friends, business partners, and your mother in law without having to suffer bad coffee.
Brilliant coffee superbly chosen and brewed by local icon Anthony and his team. The friendliest place in Kew, with a nice array of food ranging from interesting mediterranean style foccacias to a hearty burger or a Greek-inspired stuffed pepper with rice and mince. I have never tasted coffee consistently this good except perhaps at the Maling Room in Canterbury. Worth travelling across Melbourne.
A total disagreement on the previous entry on Kafez, they must have changed significantly as the coffee used is now the mass-marketed Coffex, and the barista put no care into making the latte I ordered. Just a little more than sweet milk.
My short black had a heavenly crema and would have to say one of the best I have had. The staff need a little work though - a smile goes a long way in my hectic day. The food however made up for everything. The focaccia's are to die for. Cozy and inviting, I can recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a great coffee and good food. They've got me as a regular.
