I was in tassie over the weekend... I am a confessed coffee snot!! I had coffee at a few cafe's in Hobart then stumbled accross Oomph, then again a Cafe in Kingston that was attached to a Bakery called Breadd... they used Oomph Coffee... and I swear it was THE BEST COFFEEE I have ever had in my life!! and told them so... I bought a stack of it home... and hope I can get it delivered if I run out!!
Who are you??? slowest coffee in Hobart?? Not sure where you go for coffee but Oomph delivers fast and friendly service with a coffee that is the pinnacle in Tasmania, I work at another cafe in Hobart, Only dream of working at a place like Oomph...
the coffee is ok but without doubt the slowest coffee made in hobart. they even have a sign telling you good coffee takes time to make.... what rubbish. a great coffee can e made super quick by a good barista.
FANTASTIC!!! These guys really know what they are doing! I was in there for no more than five minutes when I overheard people raving about their coffee experience on the way out, it didn't happen once ... it kept happening!! They push the fairtrade thing and show the blend they are serving. That day it was called Beanfair. A rich, blend with a real caramel, chocolate note. I make it my goal to search out the best when relocating states and after being to a few suggested coffee places I happened to stumble across this beauty. The staff are very knowlegable and enjoy chatting. Food was good. They have handmade chocolates made by a local using their own coffee, very LUSH! Bikkies and brownies all hand made, they do the open air fridge thing for savoury items. The music was funky, instead of the whole wannabe house/jazz thing going on these guys go for the old classics, I rocked to ac/dc, van halen and even (dont tell anyone) the spice girls. I cannot wait to go back. Oh yeah and they know what a ristretto is...
Without doubt the best coffee in Tasmania. These guys roast their own, have won awards for it and know how to prepare a good espresso. Venezianos (2) mazzer grinders (4) Even the decafe is ground fresh, their blend changes and they always offer a single origin as well. This is leading stuff. The food choices are well thought out for the location and the clientele. Ambience is also sleek yet warm. The baristas know their stuff and thats what counts. They are right next to Hudsons which shows these guys have got the guts to face the franchises toe to toe, and are giving the general public another choice, and what a better choice it is! A must do in Tassie
This cafe is situated right next to a Hudsons, which straight away gave me the impression that these people knew what they were doing. The service is genuinely cheerful, and my coffees often have a rosetta or a heart on top. The coffee itself is really something else. The owners roast their own coffee as well as operate the cafe, so each week there's a different blend -- you can cup the coffee for yourself. Oomph! is one of the most awarded roasters in Australia, and it's such a treat to have them here in Hobart. Definitely recommended.
