I've returned since my first review and alas its all gone pear-shaped for this former gem! The interior has time-warped to a hospital cafe circ 1986, tables dirty and not cleared regularly - food was ok but standard definitely dropped. New owners apparently.....such a shame.
We were told by locals that this was the place to find the best coffee in town, from the exterior it looks like a nice, fresh regular cafe, so I wasn't expecting much more than your standard sandwiches and bought in cakes. I was extremly surprised. I had a beesteya pie that made me think Greg Malouf was in the kitchen. My friend had ham hock and parsley terrine which could of come out of Jacque Reymond's kitchen only the portion would have been too big! We discovered the chef/owner is ex Melbourne and everything is home-made, really worth a visit.
have to admit I aggree with the above comment. I met a friend there for lunch & was plesantly suprised to find such delicious food in a small cafe. The coffee was lovely too! Well worth a visit.
