We were told about this cafe by some friends of ours, who had travelled over on the ferry, and spent the day at Queenscliff. They told us that they had called in there around lunch time, because they could smell the homemade soup cooking as they walked up the street toward the cafe. Their experience was very positive, so we drove down to see for ourselves. The food was good, the homemade cakes were wicked, and the chocolates that we took with us were even better. The staff were exceptionly friendly, and the shop was warm and inviting. We have since told many others, and have been down again, to enjoy the same great service and delicious tastes.
Such a quaint place!! They have re-badged from what they used to be called which was The Chocolate Room. They have done such a great job in becoming their own thing and is one of the must stop places in Queenscliff! Coffee is great, service very friendly and the chocolate is to die for! It was buzzing the last time I was there. Keep up the good work Chocolatte.
What a gem! I've been visiting Queenscliff for over 20 years and Saturday was the first time I had visited "Chocolatte On Hesse". It is so nice to sit in a beautiful, clean, relaxing cafe and be treated to the best coffee and hospitality in the area. I don't know what I liked more - the kind, friendly service from the girls or the perfectly made coffee! We felt so spoilt: we taste-tested a new chocolate liquorice and finished off with complimentary mineral waters in little shot glasses! And for a special treat, we returned on Sunday and had HUGE a Belgium Hot Chocolate. How decadent!
We rode our bikes into queenscliff along the rail trail, and stumbled onto this lovely cafe. We were able to leave our bikes out the front. All the staff were very friendly, and the cafe was very cosy and warm. The cakes were to die for, and the choice of coffees and hot drinks was endless. There was plenty of room, so you weren't sitting on top of other people, nor hearing their conversations. We were given a small treat !!, and some sparkling mineral water to cleanse our palate before we left. The ambience of the shop and it's keen to please friendly staff, made this a truly enjoyable experience. We will certainly be riding back down there again soon, and recommend it for anyone looking for a great coffee, yummy delights to eat, with easy access and staff that appear to enjoy serving you.
